Connecting NT Musicians

When the announcment was made, singer and guitarist Jess Cooper (pictured right with Aviator's lead singer Shana Stringer and triple j's The Doctor) told Music NT that the band were “Really happy – and surprised!” She added that winning the compeition was ”pretty awesome, and it was a bit of a shock – but a good one!” The Aviators rehearsed like blazes for the gig, and while drummer Guy Tooms was recovering from an arm injury, Jess was hopeful that he would somehow join them "on synths!” Along with Jess Cooper, the band line up for the night included accomplished lead singer Shana Stringer, bass player extraordinaire ‘Mega’ Jess Davis and Anthony Jarvis on drums (producer of the killer re-mix of 'Your Blues', on EP Here There Everywhere').
triple j Unearthed producer Stephanie Carrick (who was a speker at iNTune) was excited about The Aviators’ win. “We’ve heard a lot of good things about this young Darwin band. The Aviators showed a lot of energy, enthusiasm and the type of great music triple j is all about.”Tags: aviators, darwin, festival, intune, j, showcase, the, triple, unearthed
